Fair Use Policy

1. What this policy is

Flyercat is a hyperlocal advertising service that connects independent businesses with people who live and shop nearby. This Fair Use Policy explains how the platform may and may not be used, so that it stays fast, trustworthy and genuinely local for everyone.

It applies to everyone who uses Flyercat — businesses advertising through the portal, consumers discovering and redeeming offers, and anyone accessing our website, apps or interfaces. It sits alongside, and forms part of, our Terms & Conditions. Where this policy governs the content of an advert, our Advertising Acceptability Policy takes precedence.

2. The spirit of fair use

Flyercat is built for genuine, human, hyperlocal use — a real business reaching real people near it, and a real person finding offers they can actually use. Almost everything below follows from that single idea.

We would rather set out principles than an exhaustive rulebook. If something is clearly designed to game the platform, extract value dishonestly, or degrade the service for others, treat it as a breach of this policy even if it is not named specifically here.

3. Acceptable use

When you use Flyercat you agree to:

• Use the service for its intended purpose — legitimate local advertising and offer discovery.
• Provide accurate information about yourself or your business, and keep your account credentials secure.
• Hold one account per person or business, unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
• Respect the rights, privacy and safety of other users, businesses and our team.
• Comply with all applicable UK law and with our Terms & Conditions and Advertising Acceptability Policy.

4. Prohibited use

You must not, and must not permit anyone else to, do any of the following. This list is illustrative, not exhaustive.

• Access the platform using bots, scrapers, crawlers, or any automated means, except where we expressly provide a documented API and you stay within its terms.
• Copy, harvest, scrape or extract offers, business data, user data or any other content from the platform for reuse elsewhere.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, probe, scan or test the vulnerability of any part of the platform, or bypass any security, rate-limiting or access control.
• Place a disproportionate load on our infrastructure, or attempt to disrupt, degrade or overload the service for other users.
• Create fake, duplicate, or automated accounts, or use another person's account or identity.
• Interfere with the location, trigger, targeting or delivery logic — for example spoofing your location, or manipulating triggers to force irrelevant delivery.
• Upload or transmit malware, or use the platform to distribute unlawful, harmful, deceptive or infringing content.
• Resell, sublicense or commercially exploit access to the platform or its content without our written permission.

5. Fair use for consumers

Offers on Flyercat are for genuine personal use by the person redeeming them. To keep deals available and businesses happy to run them, you must not:

• Redeem, or attempt to redeem, an offer fraudulently — for example claiming an offer you are not entitled to, or reusing a single-use code.
• Sell, trade, transfer or publicly post redemption codes intended for you.
• Run multiple accounts to claim the same offer more than intended, or otherwise farm offers at scale.
• Misrepresent your location to unlock offers outside your area.

Reasonable, occasional personal use is always fine — this section is aimed at deliberate abuse, not at anyone claiming a deal the normal way.

6. Fair use for businesses

The business portal is for legitimate commercial use by registered businesses and sole traders. In addition to the content standards in our Advertising Acceptability Policy, you must not:

• Manipulate reach, impressions, redemptions or engagement metrics through artificial means, click farms or automated activity.
• Set targeting, triggers or geographic parameters designed to reach audiences the platform is not intended to serve, or to circumvent local relevance.
• Create offers you cannot or do not intend to honour, or use campaigns to harvest personal data outside the platform's stated purpose.
• Attempt to disadvantage, impersonate or interfere with other advertisers on the platform.

7. Reasonable limits

To protect the service for everyone, we may apply reasonable limits — for example on request rates, upload sizes, campaign volumes, redemptions or notification frequency. These limits are set to accommodate normal use and may change as the platform grows. We will apply them fairly and, where a change materially affects you, give reasonable notice.

8. If you breach this policy

Where use is unfair, abusive or unlawful, we may take action proportionate to the breach — including throttling or rate-limiting activity, removing content, withholding or reversing redemptions, requiring you to stop, and suspending or terminating your account.

For serious, repeated or deliberate breaches we may act without prior notice, and where we consider it necessary we may report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities. Termination is governed by our Terms & Conditions.

9. Reporting misuse

If you believe someone is misusing the platform — abusing offers, running deceptive campaigns, or attacking the service — please tell us at info@flyercat.com. We investigate reports of misuse and act where appropriate.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this Fair Use Policy from time to time as the platform develops. Where changes are material we will give reasonable notice by email or in-app notice, and continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
